Parenting

So I don't think I am an expert by any means. I do think though that you learn as you go. No matter how many books you read, it really does not matter.
But I know this:
My goal is not to make Audrey happy.

I want her to be happy, I do. But my goal is to make Audrey a good person, to not spoil her, to not give her anything she wants. I think it is okay to let your child be disappointed sometimes. They need to learn to cope with different let downs.
I think by spoiling them, we actually do, we spoil them. They expect happiness constantly, and that is not real life. We are not teaching them the tools that they will need in the real world.
Don't live your life through your kid. 'I never had this or that, so they are going to.'
Look at your intentions when raising your children.
Make them good people.
